My Mom still has NO idea that we've bought tickets as a surprise for her. I told her maybe we'll go to a comedy club that night for my birthday..and being a Mom she agreed to do whatever I wanted to do. I know she'll be SO happy at our yummy pre-show dinner when we tell her we're headed to the Doo Wop show and NOT a comedy club! PBS aired a rerun of Doo Wop show the other night and my Dad said to her--"you know--one day I'll take you to one of those concerts...". She griped back at him that she knows "he'll never do it!" The joke is on her and we're going to have a blast! SO excited! I love hearing the stories from your performances! We’re still excited for the show in Chicago on May 9th! I sure would like to attend one of these shows but the closest one is Chicago and that's 500 miles away. I've loved the Fleetwoods since I was little and I listen to their CD over and over. Earth Angel is, of course, a classic and nothing reminds me of the 50s more than that song..... and Dodie Stevens appeared in Clear Lake Iowa this year. I just bought 7 tickets to the upcoming Chicago Doo Wop show--May 9th as a surprise for my Mom for Mother's day! (And for my 30th birthday which is May 10th!) She raised me on all of the music of the Doo Wop era and I am so excited to surprise her with tickets to come see you all. The show was well worth my trip from Florida. I remember about 47 years ago, listening to WSAY (Mike Melody) in Rochester NY, on my little GE transister radio waiting for a Dick and Dee Dee song to come on the radio. Finally I got to hear their songs performed live. Dee Dee and Michael were fantastic and brought back so many great memories to the sold out show. A very special treat was that Dee Dee and Michael were gracious enough to come out in the lobby after the show to meet and greet all the fans. It is very obvious they sincerely care about their fans and still enjoy performing. Dee Dee, thank you so much for a great evening and for being an important part of our lives.
